Kenyan ambassador praises the Kuwaiti relief efforts in her country and world

Kenya’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Halima Mahmoud, during a visit to the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Monday, praised the distinguished exerted by the society to help the needy and those afflicted by the natural calamity in her country and the world, saying the charity work of the society and Kuwait, the government and its people is well known all over the world.

In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), HE Madam Ambassador said during a meeting with the Vice-Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, Anwar Al-Hassawi, they discussed ways to enhance the Society’s efforts in Kenya and improve the areas of partnership with the competent authorities in humanitarian affairs, reports a local Arabic daily.

She added that many humanitarian and relief projects in Kenya were addressed, especially those related to supporting those affected by drought, indicating that droughts negatively affected the agricultural sector and worsened the economic conditions of families and vulnerable groups, as many of the population lost their source of income and there was difficulty in obtaining food, water and healthcare.

For his part, Al-Hasawi, in a similar statement to KUNA, welcomed the Kenyan ambassador’s visit to the association’s headquarters, stressing the keenness of the KRCS to support its humanitarian orientations and enhance the fields of its various relief interventions.
