Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) announced that there are 1,538 job vacancies open under the budget for the fiscal 2020/202 that received approval last week by the Budgets and Final Account Committee of the National Assembly, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a reliable source.
KPC and its subsidiaries are expected to employ is 22,300, an increase of 0.5 percent compared to the estimation of the previous fiscal year, said the daily, noting that currently the oil sector employs 20,700 employees.
Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) employs the largest number of employees (about 11,500), and has 214 vacancies and will create 417 new jobs, bringing the total workforce of the company to 12,180. As for the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), 6,300 workers have been hired, while the company has 710 vacancies. Meanwhile, 205 jobs will be cut, bringing the total workforce in the company to 6,800. The Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) boasts of 337 jobs within the company and 228 vacancies. The company will end 140 job designations during the current year, bringing the total workforce to 425 employees.
