Jazeera Airways launches flights to Sharjah, third destination in UAE

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost airline, operating regionally and internationally, today announced that it will launch the airline’s first service to Sharjah on April 2, 2020, marking its third destination in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Jazeera Airways CEO, Rohit Ramachandran, said: “We are very pleased to be operating our first direct service to Sharjah and to be launching this new route following our successful service to Al Ain in December last year.

“The flight not only connects our customers to a great tourist destination for families, but also connects Kuwaiti students to an airport closer to where they are studying as well as residents of Sharjah to our growing network of destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent.”

Sharjah is a leading destination for Kuwaiti students attending universities such as the University of Sharjah and the American University of Sharjah. Sharjah International Airport also connects Kuwaiti students to universities located in the emirate of Ajman as well as the northern emirates.  Moreover, Sharjah is home to distinct archaeological sites, historic museums, galleries and heritage houses that provide a rich experience into the local culture and history.

Rohit added: “We thank Sharjah’s Department of Civil Aviation and Sharjah Airport Authority for enabling Jazeera Airways to launch this new service and support the growing demand for flights between both airports.”

The airline will operate direct flights to the third largest Emirati city with two convenient weekend return flights every Thursday and Saturday. Flights takes off from Kuwait at 13:55 local time and return from Sharjah at 16:30 am local time.
