Jaber Bridge CCTVs out of order for over 10 months

A Arabic daily reported, that all surveillance cameras on the Jaber Bridge have not been functioning for more than 10 months.

While the number of cameras is about 470, they do not work due to the failure of the transformer that supplies electricity.

The sources indicated that the Ministry of the Interior had informed the Ministry of Electricity of the malfunction of the cameras, which stated that this is the responsibility of the General Authority for Roads, who did not take the initiative to fix the problem, due to the lack of budget, noting that the cost of repairing the malfunction is about 40 thousand dinars only.

A full report on the cameras failure was submitted to the concerned authorities to find a solution to the problem, stressing the need to address it as soon as possible in order to repair the security monitoring system that protects a vital facility such as the Jaber Bridge, which is frequented by thousands of citizens and residents, in addition to its contribution to stopping suicide cases that occurred on the bridge.
