I want to congratulate the Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, and all the friendly people of Kuwait, on the occasion of the anniversary celebrations of their National and Liberation Days.
This year the celebration comes at a very difficult moment at the international level: the world community is answering to a very complex pandemic, and we all know that only united we will be able to overcome it. The Government of Kuwait is providing a very serious and important contribution to these efforts.
Also allow me to praise the role played by Kuwait in the definition of an overarching solution to the GCC rift: a role played with wise leadership and patience, which is quintessential of the Kuwaiti approach to security and stability in the region.
