Iran on Tuesday reported an additional 54 deaths from coronavirus, while 881 more people have been infected, according to health officials. Some 881 more coronavirus cases have been confirmed, upping the tally of those infected to 8,042 with the number of deaths jumping to 291, according to health ministry spokesman Kianush Jahanpur.
The lion’s share of cases were reported in the capital Tehran, with 2,114 infections, followed by the city of Qom with 751 cases, he revealed. So far, there have been 2,731 coronavirus recoveries in Iran, added the spokesman.
