Institutional quarantine opens possibility for cancelling the list of banned countries

With the decision of the Council of Ministers to make sure all arrivals to the country from abroad spend a stint in institutional quarantine, starting from Sunday, 21st February, health sources confirmed to Al-Qabas daily that there is a chance for cancelling the list of the 35 banned countries. However, there is a condition that citizens are given priority, and there are available hotels while expats arrivals hold valid residency.

After institutional quarantine was made mandatory, the question has arisen regarding a decision on the list of countries from where citizens and expats are prohibited from entering Kuwait directly, and instead have to spend 14 days in one of the countries from where direct flights are permitted.

The sources pointed out the Ministry of Health is in contact with companies producing vaccines such as Oxford and Pfizer, to provide the country with quantities, and a request was sent to the Ministry to reach the largest number of vaccine recipients to 10,000 per day.

The sources indicated that a Pfizer vaccine batch can be expected to the country next week, but the quantities and batches coming in succession are limited, and the number of vaccines so far is considered small. The Ministry is seeking to vaccinate the largest number of the population, especially in the current period of fears of the recent mutated virus, the most dangerous, entering the country.
