The Ministry of Health is awaiting the arrival of seasonal influenza and pneumococcal vaccines, to the launch of the vaccination campaign in October, the vaccines are expected to arrive within the next two weeks, Al Qabas reported.
The sources told the daily that the ministry is considering allocating some sites and centers currently included in the anti-Coronavirus vaccination campaign, to grant seasonal influenza and pneumonia vaccines, to ensure that there is no crowding or long queues in those centers, expecting that the influenza vaccination campaign will witness a wide turnout of citizens and residents, as happened last year.
The sources revealed that the ministry requested appropriate quantities of influenza and pneumonia vaccinations, to ensure that all those wishing to receive them without any obstacles, indicating that this annual campaign targets the causes of the most common infectious winter respiratory diseases, such as infection with the influenza virus, specifically influenza (A(H1N1+ H3N2), and influenza B The other most common cause is pneumococcal bacteria.
