Several Indian schools conducting online classes have requested an in-person examination for students. Arabic media reported that 20 Indian schools requested that the students appear in person for the written examination in May.

Currently, Kuwait has barred all educational institutions, schools, and universities, from conducting in-person tests or exams due to the pandemic. The Assistant Undersecretary for Special and Specific Education at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Huwaila has announced that the written exams will not be permitted within the school campuses.

The ministry of education has taken this decision in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. A media source has reported that the Indian embassy had requested the schools be approved in-person exams, otherwise students will need to travel to India to write them. The matter is of grave importance as High school students if face a delay to take final exams their enrollment in universities may get suspended until the next year because they are linked to external academic accreditation.

Between the 20 schools requesting in-person exams, there are a total of approximately 8,000 students. A delegation of international schools will be discussing the matter with the Ministry of Education.
