Indian Embassy holds webinar on Agro products

Embassy of India in Kuwait in association with Agriculture Export Facilitation Centre (AEFC) of Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MCCIA) organized a webinar and
Buyer/Seller Meet on Export of Agro products to Kuwait on 18 November.

Ambassador of India to Kuwait His Excellency Sibi George delivered his opening remarks and spoke about the strength of Indian agricultural sector and encouraged Indian exporters to collaborate with Kuwaiti importers to enhance export of agro products to Kuwait.

The meet was also addressed by Mr. Prashant Girbane, Director General MCCIA and Mr Umesh Chandra Sarangi, ChairmanAgriculture & Agri Business Committee, MCCIA. Other speakers from India included Mr Ekram Hussein, Vafa Fresh Vegetables And Fruits Exporters Association, Mr. Azhar Pathan (Mahindra Agro), Mr. Azhar Tambuwallla (Sahyadri Farms), Mr. Ketan Mane (Vadika Group).

The event saw strong participation from Kuwaiti importers. Representation of Kuwaiti importers who spoke at the event included Mr. Burhanuddin Badri (Al-Herz General Trading Co.- Al Hakimi Super Market), Mr. Bader Al Shatti (My Basket, Kuwait) and Mr. Ali Ismail
(OnCost, Kuwait).

India is the largest exporter of fruits, vegetables and food products to Kuwait. This event was organized as part of the trade, business & investment promotional events under the theme of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” and as part of Embassy’s Focus of the meet was to ensure sourcing of agricultural products from India and exploring various ways for smoother export procedure. The meet was also addressed by experts from both India and Kuwait and they shared detailed information and their experiences in this sector. Indian exporters also shared details of their produce and opportunities for export from India to Kuwait.
