Larsen & Toubro, an Indian company, has secured a contract to construct four power substations within the Sabah health district, each boasting a capacity of 132 kilovolts, according to the MEED magazine. The contract’s scope encompasses not only the installation of civil and mechanical components but also the integration of control, protection, automation, and communication systems.
The magazine further detailed that Larsen & Toubro has been awarded various projects over the past few months in Kuwait, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, reports Al-Anba daily.
These developments are part of Larsen & Toubro’s ongoing endeavors in the field of energy projects. The company adopts an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) approach for its projects.
In a statement released on August 23, the Energy and Transportation Division of the company shared that it had successfully clinched numerous new contracts across the Middle East in recent months.
Among these contracts is an undertaking to construct a 220-kilovolt gas-insulated substation and the corresponding transmission lines. Additionally, Larsen & Toubro received an order for building two new 132-kilovolt substations from the Infrastructure General Services Company in Dubai. Furthermore, a contract was secured for the establishment of a 220-kilovolt overhead transmission line.
The company also secured additional assignments to advance ongoing projects in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Notably, the contract values for each of these endeavors reportedly range between 300 and 600 thousand dollars, according to insights shared by MEED.
In a previous announcement made in May, Larsen & Toubro had revealed its successful acquisition of contracts for two substation projects located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
