Indian authorities announced Thursday 487 people succumbed to corona virus in the last 24 hours and 24879 fresh positive cases were reported from across the country.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in its latest update that total deaths due to COVID-19 climbed to 21129 while the overall positive cases soared to 767296.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, New Delhi, Telangana, Karnataka, Assam and Bihar are among the worst affected Indian states.
The government has asked people, governments and local authorities to take all necessary precautions as the nation entered into the second phase of unlock adding guidelines in the containment zones should be followed strictly.
