The Indian government said on Friday there were 20,903 COVID-19 cases in the country in the last 24 hours, while one-day deaths reported were 379 people.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in its latest update that the COVID-19 death toll so far climbed to 18,213 and total positive cases touched 625,544 people.
Maharashtra is heading other states with a total of 186,626 positive cases followed by Tamil Nadu (98,392), capital New Delhi (92,175) and Gujarat (33,913).
The government has asked people, governments, and local authorities to take all necessary precautions as the nation entered into the second phase of unlocking yesterday adding guidelines in the containment zones should be followed strictly.
