India not among the 10 destinations KU to fly from Aug 1

Kuwait Airways announced the resumption of flights to 10 destinations from Aug 1 which includes Dubai, Bahrain, Beirut, Cairo, London, Lahore, Geneva and Turkey (Istanbul, Bodrum and Trabzon).

Kuwait airport is getting readied for the gradual restart from Aug 1 of the airport in accordance with the council of ministers decision. The airport has been closed for scheduled flights since March 14.

Earlier the airline had also opened reservations to Amman, Sarajevo, Baku, Chennai, Delhi, Kochi, Mumbai and Munich, but these destinations are still awaiting clearances from the host nations.

Scheduled flights from India are also on hold as the Indian government has not yet opened its airports to international air travel, giving a huge set back to the thousands of Indians stuck back home intending to rejoin their families or work.

Even carriers such as Emirates and Etihad which had opened bookings last week to Indian destinations have removed them from the reservation list hence creating a sense of discontentment among residents waiting to return.

Infact most destinations to Asia have been passed over in the new list of destinations that Kuwait Airways will fly to.

The civil aviation has given permission for Kuwait Airways to operate flights through Kuwait airport with the specified number of seats, trips and operating days in the first phase of operation, which is limited to 10,000 passengers and 100 flights per day starting from August 1st.

The General Administration of Civil Aviation will launch the application of Kuwaitmosafer.com tomorrow, through which it will allow the departing and arriving travelers to complete their travel tasks with ease.
