Hygiene centers ill equipped to accommodate female inspectors

An informed source in the Kuwait Municipality revealed that the shift system for inspectors working in cleaning sector is of 8 hours a day.

The same source indicated that the Minister of Municipality, Dr. Rana Al-Faris, had sent a letter to the Municipality general manager on Sept 6 to enable the female municipality inspectors to work in the shift system.

The source said that the total number of hygiene inspectors in the municipality’s branches in all governorates is 133, distributed in the governorates as follows — Hawally 26, Farwaniya 23, Al Ahmadi 17, Mubarak Al Kabeer 14, Al Asimah 13 and Jahra 4.

The source revealed that according to the proposal it is estimated that 15 female inspectors will work in each governorate and they must adhere to the provisions and controls contained in the decision of the Civil Service Council regulating the assignment of the shift system.

However, the source stressed that the hygiene centers are not qualified or equipped to accommodate the female inspectors in the centers or departments’ headquarters.
