 Housing completes infrastructure for 9800 plots of low-cost housing project

The Public Corporation for Housing Welfare announced the completion of the infrastructure delivery of 9800 plots in a low-cost housing project, an Arab daily reported. Al-Sakania said in a statement that the plot area is 200 square meters, and the project includes an irrigation tank with a capacity of 250,000 gallons with a groundwater well to feed the tank, in addition to the works for substations. The project started on 12 December 2018 and was delivered on 29 May 2021.

The “low-cost housing” is one of the vital projects that the Foundation is implementing, according to the paper, and will be an alternative to the existing housing in the Taima and Sulaibiya areas, 16 km from the city of Jahra, south of Salmi Road. It covers an area for private housing estimated at 5,144,300 square meters, and investment housing with an area of 48,000 square meters, public buildings and services on 1,047,000 square meters, a craft area with an area of 169,600 square meters, and infrastructure service areas that include overhead water towers and a sewage treatment plant with an area of 204,900 square meters, in addition to 1,554,100 square meters main roads.

The source added that three tenders will be issued for homes and public service buildings, for which infrastructure works have been completed in January. It includes 3 kindergartens, 10 primary schools, 6 secondary schools, 8 middle schools, 14 main mosques, 2 mosques, and 8 sites for main power stations with a voltage of 132 kV and a center. The infrastructure works also include a firefighting and ambulance service, a women’s center, a youth center, 3 main gardens, two sites for private schools, 3 sites for the Holy Qur’an houses, two police stations, two gas branches, 4 branches of local banks, a site for “Al-Siraj Al-Munir”, a Quran memorization house, the elderly care unit, the elderly office, a specialized health center, a public health center, a telephone exchange and a market main center, a wedding hall for men and another for women, a community development center, a social unit site, a government complex, a site for the Zakat House, an electricity site, a publication, a temporary purification plant, a sewage station, a site for fresh water towers, and an insulating tree belt with an area of 138,500 square meters to repel the encroachment of sand in the area.
