Health guidelines for arriving expats to be decided

The Council of Ministers announced the start of commercial flights and opening of Kuwait airport from August 1 for arrivals operating at a 30% capacity, which would allow for those expats wishing to return to Kuwait to take advantage, but the details have not been clarified yet. A daily reported that the procedure for those expat arrivals require coordination with the Ministry of Health to outline the preventive measures and conditions required and the approved examination methods in the face of a possible coronavirus outbreak.

This is in spite of a requirement for arrivals to have a PCR certificate proving their coronavirus-free status. The daily reports that the number of expats that will be allowed to return on daily basis is still unresolved. The Civil Aviation Department stated that 42 local and international airlines have been asked to submit requests to operate their commercial flights, including the flight details, the number of passengers and the crew of the plane. This step aims to determine the number of flights during August and hand out official approvals in accordance with the civil aviation plan to manage the expat arrivals to the country. Currently, expats are advised that it is not possible to book travel dates for August through travel agencies as the first stage is to approve the airline flights for the passengers.
