GTD issues 51,000 violations for phone use, inattentiveness in two years 

The Ministry of Interior said that during the past two years, the traffic sector issued more than 50,000 violations to reduce accidents resulting from using a mobile phone while driving and not paying attention, given that these two violations are responsible for a large number of accidents.

Al-Anba quoting the Ministry of Interior sources stated that the number of violations related to the use of a mobile phone while driving during the past two years (2020 and 2021) was 30,082 and 20,880 for ‘inattentiveness’ while driving.

The ministry affirmed its keenness on the safety of road users by broadcasting awareness guidelines and intensifying campaigns, calling on citizens and residents to abide by the traffic law and its rules.
