On the occasion of the Independence and Liberation Days of Kuwait, I convey my warmest wishes to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown prince, the government and my beloved people of Kuwait.
Our first contacts go back centuries with the establishment of a settlement on Failaka ( Ikarus) Island. The recent successful exhibition under my auspices about the legacy of Alexander the Great gave a new impulse to this old relationship. Greece recognized very early the independence of Kuwait and took part in the international coalition which achieved the liberation of the country. Our bilateral relations are also strong and based on shared values. We will continue deepening and expanding our cooperation in new and promising fields.
