The National Assembly, yesterday promised to approve financial rewards for retirees, no later than next Thursday.
Parliamentary sources said that there is a government vision to distribute 3,000 dinars to each retiree, but that a government decision is awaited within the next two days, reports a local Arabic daily.
This good news was reinforced by the statement of Finance Minister Abdul Wahhab Al-Rasheed, who attended the meeting of the Parliamentary Finance Committee yesterday, to send a message to the retirees saying that the good news will come to them under the directives of the wise political leadership.
The Chairman of the Finance Committee, Representative Ahmed Al-Hamad revealed a government trend to refer a draft law regarding the payment of a reward to retirees and the insured, adding that the amount of the reward has to be determined before the session of the 17th of this month.”
Parliamentary sources told the daily that the second part of the meeting of the Finance Committee devoted to the proposals of retirees witnessed a debate about the minimum salary of the retiree to be 1000 dinars, due to legal problems, pointing out that the report will be ready for the committee’s vote next Wednesday on the sidelines of the special session.
