Ghada Al-Taher appointed as new UN resident coordinator to Kuwait

António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, has appointed Ghada Hatem Al-Tahir Mudawi of Sudan as the Representative of the Secretary-General and Resident Coordinator in Kuwait, reported Al-Qabas Daily.

Al-Tahir boasts over 25 years of experience in humanitarian and development affairs, having held various key positions at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in New York.

Notably, she served as Deputy Director in the Division of Operations and Advocacy and briefly acted as director from March to August 2022. Al-Tahir also assumed the role of Acting Deputy Director for the Middle East and North Africa, overseeing humanitarian affairs activities in those regions.
