Political leadership directed the immediate release of detainees from former MPs and citizens without financial bail and suspension of the referral summited by the Ministry of Interior against the gathering that was held by members of Parliament in the presence of several citizens.
HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled thanked and appreciated HH Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad and HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad. HH Prime Minister said that the political leadership emphasized the importance of cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities.
His Highness the Prime Minister affirmed his appreciation to the members of the National Assembly, stressing at the same time they need to cooperate in facing the Coronavirus pandemic, and to adhere to the directives of the health authorities.
And upon the direction of the political leadership, Yesterday, the Public Prosecution carried out the procedures for the immediate release of all 15 detainees, including former MPs and citizens, without paying the financial guarantee.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Marzouq Al-Ghanim, had affirmed that there is nothing above the law in Kuwait, the state of the constitution and institutions.
Al-Ghanim confirmed, in a press statement yesterday, his compliance and that he will be the first to come to the prosecution and the first to request the removal of immunity from him if he is summoned.
