Food unfit for human consumption destroyed by PAFN inspectors

The Capital Governorate Inspection Supervisor at the Food and Nutrition Public Authority, Abdullah Al-Siddiqi, said it is very important to pay attention to the food items that are purchased to ensure they are fit for consumption and that the validity of the product has not expire particularly of fish and meat, and take into account the smell of these products.

Al-Siddiqi said in a statement to Al-Anba, following an inspection tour of a number of restaurants, shops, and central markets in the Capital Governorate, it resulted in the closure of two food establishments, and the destruction of a quantity of fish in Sharq Market during auction time, and explained 145 kilograms of food supplies were destroyed that were apparently damaged.

He added, 3 tons of expired food supplies unfit for human consumption were also destroyed, pointing out that the Food and Nutrition Public Authority is keen in this area in the best interest of public health, indicating that inspection of food supplies in general is 24 hours a day.

He pointed to the need to ensure that the food consumed is fit for human use, pointing out the need to report unsuitable materials via line No. 1807779.
