Flexible working hours not mandatory: Council of Ministers

The Council of Ministers said the flexible working hours are optional for government employees, as many government establishments have rejected his idea due to the nature of their work.

The source said, the Council of Ministers has asked the ministers to inform the senior officials of their respective departments to choose the most suitable time should they opt to work as per the flexible working hours or reject the offer, provided they give justify the reason for not adhering to the flexible working hours, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The source added that most government institutions will adopt a circular for flexible working hours, and it will be a 30-minute flexible “delay” in the fingerprint time, which will be compensated before leaving.

The source pointed out that some government agencies refused to apply flexible working hours due to the nature of their work, such as the Public Authority for Civil Information and hospitals, and the application of flexible working hours is not compulsory for employees, but rather their choice, and they have the right to refuse it.
