Remittances by Filipino workers in Kuwait back to the Philippines has soared by nearly 17 percent in the first nine months of the year to reach a total of US$562 million, from the $482.5 million during the same period last year.
Meanwhile, remittances from Filipinos from other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states declined by 7.5 percent in the first nine months of the year. A total of $4.34 billion was repatriated to the Philippines from other GCC states during this period compared to $4.69 billion during the first nine months of 2018.
