On Monday, Philippine police surrounded a shopping mall in an affluent district of Manila after a gunman opened fire and took some hostage inside.
The incident took place at the V-Mall, in the Philippine capital’s San Juan district. Mayor Francis Zamora of San Juan told reporters that the shooter holds around 30 people hostage.
He said the gunman is a dissatisfied former security guard discharged from his mall job. Zamora added one person shot by the gunman is admitted to a nearby hospital, is in stable condition.
