FAIPS–DPS celebrates the legacy of its founders

FAIPS-DPS honoured its pioneering  spirits by celebrating its 29th Founder’s Day with great pomp and gaiety on Monday, 11th September, 2023 in the school auditorium. Since its inception in 1995, every year this day has  truly served as a testament to the institution’s outstanding achievements and its continuous  pursuit of excellence in the field of academics, sports, art and other multifarious areas with  cultural programmes and recognizing exemplary students. 

The elegance of the day became more profound by the presence of Her Excellency Ms. Claire Le Flécher, the Ambassador of France to Kuwait as the revered Chief Guest. The Guest of Honor for the event was Mr. Benoît Cathala, the Director of the French Institute of Kuwait and  the Attaché of Cultural Activities Cooperation to the French Embassy in Kuwait. Mrs. Lana Othman Al-Ayyar; the Chief Executive Officer of Al Rayan Holding Co., Mr. Arun Choudhary,  Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy of Al Rayan Holding Co. also were present as the mentors of FAIPS. and Mrs. Natalie, Course Director in the Institute of France in Kuwait. 

The program commenced with the Tahe-Al-Kuwait followed by the rendition of the National Anthems of India and Kuwait and the recital of a verse from the Holy Quran by the school  choir. The Vice Head Boy Joshua Jomilal and Vice Head Girl, Krittika Agrawal, introduced respected dignitaries to the audience. The lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the luminaries  ignited the vibrancy and serenity of the special day. The Principal Mr. Ravi Ayanoli, welcomed  the guests and honored them with bouquets. Remembering the great legacy of FAIPS DPS,  he reiterated the importance of Time Management and Consistency in his address,  particularly to the students. The tone was set with a melodious welcome song, ‘Swagat Geet’  by the choir students. 

The festivities continued with a medley of cultural extravaganza featuring a range of  performances by the school’s talented students, each one more enthralling than the previous  one. The first item was the orchestra performance by 28 performers playing two masterpieces,  Jambalaya and Iko Iko, with unmatched exuberance and rhythm, which set the tone for the  rest of the events. The tiny tots of kindergarten showcased their capabilities and stole the  hearts of the audience through a delightful musical performance against the backdrop of  popular Australian, French and Indian rhymes. The audience got a glimpse of the five basic  elements of the Universe viz. Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Ether and their importance through a  scintillating dance performance by the Primary students, left the spectators spellbound which  reinforced the school’s reputation for nurturing creativity and artistic expression.  

Similarly, the students of IGCSE and British Curriculum (BC) captivated the audience with their  sensational dance performance of Arabic and Bollywood fusion. Sufi dance titled ‘Dance for Peace’ in fusion with Arabic music performed by the senior students conveyed an important  message of peace. Another noteworthy performance by middle school students portrayed  the struggles of women calling for their empowerment in society, which enthralled the  audience. The sentimental song on ‘Mothers’ which goes by the title ‘Soleil de Ma Vie’ literally  translated to, ‘O Mom, you are the sunshine of my life’, was a tribute to the guests from  France. 

The Chief Guest Ms. Claire Le Flécher took the opportunity to release the 4th edition of the  coveted FAIPS Panorama magazine. In her speech, she emphasized the evergreen and strong  relationship between India and France. She recounted her experiences in Kuwait and covered  several topics such as cultural richness, discussing the infrastructure of the school which  impelled the audience to great heights.  

Interspersed with the mesmerizing performances, the Grade XII toppers in CBSE Board  Examination 2023 and the teachers were awarded with cash prizes and certificates for their  outstanding performance by Her Excellency Ms. Claire Le Flécher. Similarly, the toppers of  Grade X and IGCSE were also felicitated by Mrs. Lana Othman Al-Ayyar. The teaching and non  – teaching staff who had dedicated their incredible tenure of 15 and 20 years in service to  the institution were felicitated by Mr. Arun Choudhary. 

A captivating PowerPoint Presentation that highlighted a throwback of the school’s incredible  evolution and achievements over the years including the resounding success in Olympiads,  MUN, Quiz, Shaastrotsav, SIF, and CBSE Kuwait Cluster tournaments and Nationals and a  holistic look at the entire faculty of FAIPS, was a great feast to the audience.  

The entire program was well coordinated by the talented students of Grade XI under the able  guidance and support of the FAIPS fraternity. The curtains to this year’s Founder’s Day  programme was drawn after, the Vice Head Boy Daniel George and Vice Head Girl, Farida Obri  proposed the Vote of Thanks, expressing their gratitude to everyone for their time, presence  and support. The eminent dignitaries and proud parents left the school premises with an  overwhelming sense of awe and exhilaration after witnessing such an event.
