As part of the Cinema Hall’s goal to screen short films from around the world, a screening will be dedicated to Egyptian short films on January 31. Egyptian cinema has been known as the pioneering industry in the Arab world. The first silent Egyptian film was produced in 1917, and the first talking movie, Zainab, was produced in 1923.
