Embassy of Kuwait in Washington tells its citizens to be cautious

The Kuwaiti Embassy in the United States of America has drawn the attention of Kuwaitis in the southeastern United States, to take caution and take the necessary measures to deal with Tropical Storm “Idalia.” While the embassy wishes everyone safety, it stresses the necessity of following the directives issued by local authorities.

The embassy, according to Al-Rai daily, has asked its citizens to communicate with it and with the consulates general of the State of Kuwait in New York and Los Angeles, when necessary, on the following emergency phones numbers:

— Embassy in Washington: +12022620758
— Consulate General in Los Angeles: +13102793644
— Consulate General in New York: +19172426688

Idalia’s strength intensified on Tuesday after it drew energy from the warm, open waters of the Gulf of Mexico, while millions of people in the hurricane’s path worked to tighten their boats, close windows, protect their property with sandbags, and head to higher ground.

Meanwhile, the US National Hurricane Center described the force with which it struck “Idalia” as “severe, and the region has not witnessed anything like it in 125 years.” While forced evacuation orders were issued in at least 28 of the 67 counties in Florida on Tuesday evening, some of them found themselves in the middle of the dilemma today.
