Elderly to be given priority in Kuwait Covid-19 vaccine rollout

While local circles await news of the arrival of approved Corona vaccines to the country, responsible health sources confirmed that those over 55 years of age and those with chronic diseases are to be prioritized for the first batch of Corona vaccines, reports Al Qabas Daily.

The sources told the daily that the ministry will take into account other factors as well, such as workers in the front lines, medical staff, and nursing staff.

The availability of two doses is essential before the first is given to any population group as adequate doses are a prerequisite before starting the vaccination of any segment, stressed the sources.

The Public Authority for Civil Information is determining the numbers of citizens and residents above the age of 55 years, and their residential information before joining them to the target groups for taking Corona vaccines, according to the Ministry of Health’s assessment to be carried out with each stage of the arrival of vaccines and their quantities.
