Egyptian Embassy forms joint technical committee to streamline work contracts of Egyptians

The Egyptian embassy in Kuwait announced a joint technical committee will hold a meeting under the aegis of the two foreign ministries, to set the regulations governing the procedures for approving work contracts, with the aim of facilitating business owners in Kuwait and Egyptian workers.

The embassy said in a statement, a copy of which was obtained by a local Arabic daily, that “Within the framework of the keenness of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the sisterly State of Kuwait to facilitate the procedures for ratifying work contracts through the labor representation office in the mission, the embassy has coordinated and agreed with the concerned authorities in the State of Kuwait on the importance of holding a joint technical committee meeting under the umbrella of the two countries’ foreign ministries to set the regulations governing the procedures for approving work contracts with the aim of facilitating business owners in the State of Kuwait and Egyptian workers in line with the rules governing the Labor Law.

The statement said, accordingly, all procedures for facilitating work contracts that were agreed upon with the Kuwaiti side will be activated until an urgent meeting is held for the Joint Technical Committee referred to above to develop a comprehensive bilateral framework for the system of employment contracts.

The embassy praised Kuwait’s efforts to preserve the rights of foreign workers, and to take care of the interests of business owners to achieve the desired benefit for both sides.
