Educational curriculums in Kuwait to adopt “Artificial Intelligence”

To keep pace with digital transformation, the Ministry of Education is experimenting with introducing artificial intelligence to its curriculum in the intermediate and secondary stages. Ali Al-Kandari, the first computer instructor in the Farwaniya educational district, revealed that an educational workshop for the “Python” program has been established at Rabieh High School for Girls to raise awareness about artificial intelligence programming.

This is an effort to keep up with the times and to enhance the educational process by employing these applications in education. Al-Kandari emphasized that this is just the beginning and that the study of the application will be expanded. The general plan is to introduce artificial intelligence into computer curriculums because it is the future of the education. Initially, it will be concentrated on the intermediate stage, followed by the secondary stage.

Maha Al-Enezi, a certified trainer and computer teacher at Rabieh High School, stated that one of the objectives of the workshop is to learn Python, the latest modern programming language. The project is currently being presented to teachers and heads of departments in the Farwaniya educational district. She added that the current curriculum for the twelfth grade depends on the programming language, but the plan is to adopt the modern Python language in the future because it is one of the simplest and easiest languages to learn for students.

Python can be used for a variety of domains, including tools that deal with the system directly, internet programming, programming graphical user interfaces, database programming, and distributed programming. Additionally, Python is easy to learn, as it contains simple and easy-to-understand structures. It can be freely distributed and modified and is a high-level language. Finally, it works on all operating systems, including Linux, Macintosh, and Windows.
