Earthquake tremors felt in Kuwait

A 5.4-magnitude earthquake, occurring in the southwest of Iran, was felt in Kuwait, said Kuwait National Seismic Network (KNSN) on Sunday, KUNA reported.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Enizi, an official at the KNSN, said that the quake happened at 5:34 pm local time in Kuwait at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The quake’s epicenter was 310 kilometers away from Kuwait city, he added. The KNSN is an entity affiliated with the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research.

Al Enizi said to a local daily that there were no reports of damage, but the vibration was felt by residents in a number of areas, especially high-rise buildings in coastal areas.
