The staff at the Financial Affairs Department in the Ministry of Social Affairs were requested not to come to work as three of their colleagues in the Audit Department tested positive for the coronavirus, Al-Jarida reported, quoting sources.
The Assistant Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs and Chairman of the Health Conditions Implementation Committee Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi issued a directive to suspend work in the department for the building to be sterilized and disinfected to end the presence of the virus. The step was taken to protect all the other employees at the department and ensure the virus does not spread.
Al-Mutairi went on an inspection tour of the ministry’s departments in the Ministries Complex to personally check the level of compliance with health and precautionary measures among officials and employees. During the visit, Al-Mutairi issued citations to some employees who failed to adhere to the regulation of wearing protective masks. These employees will be referred to the Legal Affairs Department for investigation on grounds of negligence and endangering their lives and that of others, in compliance with the directives of Minister of Social Affairs and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Maryam Al-Aqeel, sources added to the daily.
