DGCA sends updated instructions to airlines on permitting new visa holders into country

The General Administration of Civil Aviation sent a circular to all airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport, in which it clarified that it was noticed recently that some airlines did not comply with the instructions of the General Administration of Immigration at the Ministry of Interior, and that all companies operating at Kuwait International Airport should not accept passengers coming to Kuwait for the purpose of residence and they hold one of the visas mentioned below, unless they get in touch with the Kuwaiti embassies or consulates in their respective countries to get the entry visa endorsed on their passports before travel.

A local Arabic daily quoting civil aviation sources said passengers will not be allowed to enter Kuwait unless an approval for the entry visa is obtained, and the passengers who violate the instructions will be returned to the country of departure at the expense of the airline in addition to the passengers mentioned below.

Categories of expatriates who enter with visas approved by embassies

1. Entry to work in the government or public institutions.

2. Entry to work in the private sector.

3. Entry to practice a commercial or industrial activity, a profession or a craft.

4. Entry of private domestic workers

5. Entry to join a family

6. Entry to study

Categories that are forbidden to enter and are returned to their country at the expense of the airline include:

1 – The passenger who does not carry a “passport/visa”.

2 – The expiry date of the passport/visa/residency.

3 – If the visa is not certified by the embassy or consulate abroad.

4 – If the visa is a copy and not original.

5 -.Exceeding six months of residence abroad.

6 – Residents in the Gulf countries, the validity of the “passport/residency” is less than six months, or the professions are not permitted, according to Circular No. “46/2016” issued on 11-2-2016.

7 – Not carrying a police clearance certificate
