Decline in Corona infections seen for first time

The Ministry of Health, Friday,  announced two people infected with the Corona virus died and recorded 226 new Covid-19 infections .

The ministry said the epidemiological situation in Kuwait continues to improve, with the percentage of infections continuing to decline, since for the first time it has touched tbe below 2 percent or 1.89 percent, amid continued decline in the number of infection cases in hospital wards and intensive care units. The recovery rate continues its upward trend and has reached 98.1 percent.

Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad, spokesman for the Ministry of Health, said with the registration of 226 new infections over the past 24 hours, the total number of cases registered in the country increased to 407,878.

Al-Sanad told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) with the two new deaths recorded, the total number of deaths is put at 2,401, and with the 610 new cases of recovery, the total number of people recovered from the virus is 400,148 of 98.1 percent.

He stated the number of those receiving medical care in the intensive care departments has reached 173 cases, while the total number of cases that were confirmed to be infected and still receiving treatmemt is 5,329, and the total number of cases in (Covid 19) wards is 340.

He stated 11,934 swabs were conducted during the same period bringing the total number of tests to 3,655,034. With regard to the percentage of infection in the governorates, Al-Sanad said Hawally accounted for 28% , Farwaniya 22%, Al-Ahmadi 20%, Jahra 17% and Capital, 13%.
