Declaration before departure from Kuwait

As part of its response to managing the Covid-19 outbreak, the Kuwait Government has travel restrictions in place for foreign nationals as well as citizens. Effective from March 8 all passengers traveling from  India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Egypt, Syria Lebanon, Turkey, Georgia, and Azerbaijan will have to produce a complete medical certificate that they are free from Coronavirus from their home country.

Another regulation imposed by the Ministry of Health is a declaration form on all departures from Kuwait Airport and the land border exits, to be signed before leaving the country, in light of the spread of coronavirus globally.

The declaration is a precautionary measure in the fight against the spread of coronavirus in Kuwait. The document is a declaration which states that the traveler would be committed to the orders issued by the authorities of the destination and upon his arrival in Kuwait; he would be obliged to follow procedures per the Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Health.

Signing this document also means that the traveler is agreeing to the Ministry’s regulated health detention for 14 days deemed necessary by the authorities with full cooperation.

Not compliance with the pledge would expose the traveler to sanctions and legal accountability.
