Decision to full return to school yet to be decided; all options on the table

The Ministry of Education has not yet decided on a full-scale return to school during the second semester, which will start on March 6, 2022.

However, well-informed education sources told Al-Anba that students, their parents, and people in the field of education are waiting for the final decision from the ministry, noting that the ministry studies all options carefully with the concerned authorities before taking the final decision, whether to go for complete return or adopt the two-group pattern.

The sources in the ministry added all sectors in the ministry have intensified efforts to clear the path for students and teachers and provide the best ways for a safe start for the second semester, noting that a number of officials, whether at the level of educational districts or the ministry, have inspected a number of schools in various regions to see the extent of their preparedness to receive students and teachers for the second semester.

On the other hand, female Kuwaiti security officers working in the Farwaniya Educational District schools have appealed to the Minister of Education Dr. Ali Al-Mudhaf, and his Deputy Dr. Ali Al-Yacoub to intervene and end their suffering because they have not received their salaries since last June. They told the daily they place their hopes on the ministry’s senior officials to find a solution to their problem since they have tried in vain for a very long time.

They added, “Our services were terminated after the file of the specialized company was suspended, and thus the guard contract, which was signed in 2017 ended.

They noted their labor support was also stopped, which imposed a heavy financial burden on them, not to mention debts and loans, especially since their number is 160, and we received 200 dinars as a monthly salary, and they deducted 50 dinars from us without our knowledge, even though the salary is 250 dinars in the contract.
