Daily arrivals into Kuwait increased to 7,500 per day

The General Administration of Civil Aviation revealed to Al Anba that the Council of Ministers decided to raise the capacity of Kuwait International Airport to 7,500 passengers per day, in line with the steady increase in the movement of passengers coming to the country during the coming period, from the present 5,000 per day.

The sources stated that “Civil Aviation” is currently working on preparing a new operating “quota” and identifying the requests of local airlines and the destinations that will be operated by these companies, noting that Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways will have the largest share in the additional share of operation, which amounts to an increase 2500 passengers per day

The quota distribution will be to raise seats to Dubai and Turkey for nationals and foreign companies operating on the two routes to facilitate the return of citizens.

Kuwait Airways has also requested to operate an additional flight to London, which will be approved and start operating flights to Amsterdam and Frankfurt.

On the other hand, the sources said that the Council of Ministers did not decide in its last meeting on operating direct flights to and from Egypt, denying at the same time that charter flights will be operated to the destination of Egypt unless an official decision is issued approving direct operation.

The sources said that “Civil Aviation” refused to operate charter flights to Iran during the current period, after operating a number of flights during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
