Council of Ministers rearranges subordination of 9 government agencies

The changes accompanying the political situation, after the formation of each new government, new developments take place especially in the area of subordination of government institutions to the ministers, which observers say is due to the desire of the Council of Ministers to restructure and rearrange affiliation of various government institutions in an effort to develop work and strike a balance in the distribution process to ministers according to the specialization and the nature of the work of the same entity.

The Council of Ministers approved a rotation movement for a number of government agencies and departments, and transferred their ministerial affiliation with recently issued decrees, reports a local Arabic daily.

A high-ranking ministerial source indicated that “no new decrees will be issued in the coming period to transfer the affiliation than what has already been approved,” saying the transfers “are related to the nature of the work of the authority and the ministry to which it was transferred.”

In accordance with the decrees issued recently, the transfer of 9 entities and the rotation of their subordination has been approved, most notably assigning supervision and presidency of the Civil Service Commission to the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Oil and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr. Mohammed Fares.

In line with the government’s interest in the food security system and ensuring the smooth functioning of the committee formed in this regard, it was approved to transfer the affiliation of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources to Minister Al-Fares, who chairs the Committee for Strengthening the Food Security System in the Council of Ministers.
