Coronavirus swabs for cats and dogs in Kuwait?

South Korea has begun conducting Coronavirus tests for cats and dogs if they showed symptoms such as fever, coughing, or breathing difficulties, questions have been raised about the possibility of conducting similar checks in Kuwait, especially in light of the presence of thousands of pets in homes, Al-Rai daily reported.

Informed sources explained to the daily that the transmission of Corona from humans to animals has become certain, but the opposite has not yet been proven according to studies. The sources also said that the lifestyle in Kuwait and raising and the Arab countries different from South Korea.

These animals are very large, confirming that no global recommendations have been issued regarding examinations for pets.

An official source at the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries confirmed that the World Health Organization and the Animal Health Organization have not issued any recommendations for examinations for pets, despite the confirmation of human transmission.

The source called on citizens and residents who raise pets in their homes and gardens to monitor them and to review the veterinarian in the event that any symptoms appear, stressing the need to isolate any animal that proves infection with the virus.
