The head of the Consumer Protection Department, Mishaal Al-Manea, has called on the Ministry of Social Affairs to ensure that the cooperative societies remain committed to stocking basic commodities good enough for six months.
Al-Manea said many cooperatives did not comply with the circular issued by the ministry last June in this regard because the companies they deal with have failed to provide enough supplies to meet the situation in emergency situations, reports a local Arabic daily.
