The Ministry of Health said at the moment there are no plans to contract nurses from Egypt, and said the reports published in the social media is incorrect.
Reliable ministry sources told a local Arabic daily said it follows regular procedures regarding direct hiring of a doctor, nurse or technician locally, or even in the case of hiring personnel from overseas.
The same sources said the ministry over the last period signed contracts with several countries to hire medical personnel including from Pakistan, India and Sudan.
The sources indicated that the ministry, during the Corona pandemic, increased the workforce in the nursing sector in particular, which witnessed an increase of about 2,000 nursing staff, through direct contracting. The sources revealed the imminent arrival of about 120 medical and nursing personnel from Pakistan, within two weeks.
