The Constitutional Court has decided to nullify the 2022 National Assembly and has declared the invalidity of the parliamentarians  who won in those elections.

Following Sunday’s Constitutional Court ruling which annulled the parliament elected in 2022, members of the previous National Assembly will return to office, including Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem

The Kuwaiti Constitutional Court issued the verdict on Sunday annulling the results of the 2022 National Assembly (parliament) elections and bringing back the 2020 formation of parliament.

The court decided that the election process, which took place last September, was null and void due to discrepancies in the decree dissolving the National Assembly of 2020.

The results of the 2022 elections, held in five constituencies, were now annulled and the members of the 2020 parliament are now reinstated, it added.

The Constitutional Court decided on March eighth to postpone challenges filed against 2022 elections results to March 19th.
