Complaints against guards for accepting bribes for permitting visitors without appointments

A case has come to light where corrupted guards profit by allowing visitors to complete their transactions at the labor departments under the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) without prior appointments, as mentioned by the health regulations, Al-Qabas daily reported.

The daily said, quoting sources, PAM has received complaints on social media platforms about security guards under the contracts of private companies and working in labor departments, allowing visitors to enter without prior appointments, and charging one dinar. The sources stated that the competent department has started an investigation into the case, with those involved being held accountable if there is evidence found of the complaint.

Only recently Al-Qabas published a report about the arrest of corrupted guards in the ministries of foreign affairs and the interior, following the uncovering of the involvement of guards in the attestation departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

PAM has launched its online services for labor departments that enables cancellation or transfer transactions and other services easily. People are only allowed to enter the departments with prior appointments as part of the commitment by the authority to adhere to the health measures to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
