Commercial activities at Kuwait airport expected soon

President of Civil Aviation Sheikh Salman Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah chaired a meeting of the Supreme Committee to discuss restarting commercial flights at Kuwait International Airport (KIA) today, in several phases, reported Al Rai Daily.

The phased resuming of flights was discussed as per the requirements in accordance with international laws and regulations related to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and other international organizations in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah stated that following the meeting a plan would be implemented with support of the relevant authorities to restart the activities in the Kuwait airport and flights in addition to ground services. He stated that the Supreme Committee will supervise the execution of the approved plan for workers in a manner that adheres to the standard health guidelines and recommended work methods, and also in accordance with the health and security measures adopted internationally and locally, which are in line with the international requirements to handle the coronavirus pandemic.

In addition, the committee will review and approve recommendations to support the aviation sector and related parties, which were impacted by the suspension caused by the  coronavirus. This comes in addition to the regulations issued by the Civil Aviation, and the decisions passed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health and the General Administration of Customs related to contain the spread of coronavirus.
