Coast Guard holds live ammunition exercises near Boubiyan, Failaka

Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Interior announced the General Department of Coast Guard will hold exercises using live ammunition tomorrow, Monday, at the marine shooting range (ALFA) near the islands of Boubiyan and Failaka. The exercise will continue until January 18 from 8 am to 3 pm.

In a press statement issued by the Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Ministry of Interior Ministry sea goers are requested to stay away from the southeast of Boubiyan Island, northeast of Failaka Island, and areas adjacent to Boubiyan Island, south of Ras Al-Qaid, at a depth of 11 nautical miles to the southeast, along Failaka Island, extending to Ouha Island, at a depth of 15 nautical miles towards the northeast, and 2.8 nautical miles away from Failaka Island, towards the northeast, while the field extends towards the northeast, at a length of 15 nautical miles and a width of 11 nautical miles.

The sources stressed no one should approach these areas called during the time mentioned above, stressing that all marine patrols will prevent anyone trying to approach the area for the safety of everyone.
