Civil Aviation recommends lifting of the travel ban

Saleh Al-Fadaghi, Director of Operations Department at Kuwait International Airport, told a local Arabic Daily that commercial flight executive Committee for the Commercial Restoration had raised a proposal to the Supreme Committee.

Expat employees working in the public and private sectors have been stuck abroad, unable to return due to the travel ban imposed on 34 countries, including India, Egypt, the Philippines and Bangladesh.  This proposal stipulates that the adoption of an institutional quarantine in Kuwait for 14 days for those coming from those countries on the ban list.

Al-Fadaghi also said that implementation of this proposal will require the coordination of 3 major departments: the General Administration of Civil Aviation, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Interior.

He added that the proposal is under consideration and the Supreme Committee will announce all these recommendations whenever it sees it fits.
