Indian embassy celebrates Independence day of India

Embassy of India in Kuwait celebrated the 76th Independence Day of India on Monday, 15 August 2022. The event took place in the Embassy of India premises in Daeya Diplomatic area. The celebrations were held by following adequate COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.

The official programme started from 8 am at the Embassy premises by paying floral tribute to statue of Mahatma Gandhi followed by unfurling of the National Tricolor flag and singing of the Indian National Anthem.

On this occasion, Hon’ble President of India’s message to the nation was read out by the Ambassador who also addressed all the participants. In his address, Ambassador thanked the leadership and Government of the friendly State of Kuwait for the continued support in further deepening and strengthening of India-Kuwait bilateral relations and for taking special care of the Indian Community in Kuwait.

Moreover, in his address to the Indian Community, Ambassador highlighted the efforts of the Embassy to work along with community in promoting India-Kuwait relations and addressing the issues of concern to the Community. He reiterated the invitation to the Community in Kuwait to join hands with the embassy to celebrate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. He highlighted the efforts undertaken by the Embassy on various fronts, including promotion of trade, investment, culture and tourism, expansion and deepening of institutional cooperation in different domains, and various measures to ensure the welfare of the Indian Community in Kuwait. The event was live streamed on Mission’s social media handles including Facebook and YouTube. Winners of ‘AKAM’ Quiz winners were felicitated on this occasion.

In the run up to the Independence Day Celebrations, the Embassy organized various events including ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ 3Ts bus campaign and Online Quizes for school students and diaspora, all of which witnessed immense participation from the Indian Community in Kuwait.
