The Court of Cassation ruled that the appeal submitted by a sheikh accused in the case of embezzlement of 238 million dollars from the Kuwait Investment Office in London has been dismissed, and thus the verdict issued by the Court of Appeal, sentencing the man to 5 years in prison and ordering him to pay $40 million in fines is final.
A local Arabic daily said, the case against another defendant is considered ‘lapsed’ following his death in 2019.
